Water & Acid Staining

Acid Staining

Acid staining can be used to give concrete a marbled, variated look similar to that of natural stone. Acid stains are very translucent by nature. The acid in the stain burns the color into the concrete, producing colouring that will not wear off or fade from sunlight. Acid stains are available in select colours ONLY:

  • Brown
  • Reddish Brown
  • Yellowish Brown
  • Blue
  • Green
  • Black

They use metallic salts and organic compounds for colour. Different tones of these colors can be achieved by diluting the stain. After applied, the acid will need to be neutralized and residue scrubbed off before continuing.

Acid staining can be done alone or combined with polishing to give the perfect finish.

Water Staining

Water stains are available in a wide range of colours and produce a more uniform tone of colour. Depending on dilution rates they can be semi transparent to solid in colour.

Water stains are a good choice for:

  • Brighter colours
  • Creating borders
  • Creating designs
